President

Daniel is a results-driven executive with 20+ years of leadership in distribution, logistics, and recycling, including 17 years with The Salvation Army. A strategic advisor and champion of the triple bottom line, he excels in operational efficiency, financial oversight, and stakeholder collaboration. Eager to contribute, he proudly serves on the board of SUMS Place to support its vital community impact.

Vice President

Andy is the lead pastor of Green Timbers Covenant Church in Surrey, where he has served for 18 years. He loves living in the Lower Mainland and enjoying God’s beautiful creation, along with the wonderful mix of people and cultures God has put here. He is excited to serve alongside the staff, clients, and volunteers at SUMS Place to share God’s love and welcome to all people.

Treasurer

Kuda Mabiza brings expertise in health informatics, quality improvement, patient safety, and strategic leadership to the SUMS Board. With a background in Business Management and experience leading system improvement initiatives across healthcare, he applies a systems lens to governance, accountability, and sustainable organizational growth.

His work combines data informed decision making with a deep understanding of community needs. As the founder and leader of two nonprofit organizations supporting newcomers, low-income families, and vulnerable populations, Kuda has built strong partnerships, strengthened organizational capacity, and advanced innovative, community driven solutions that create lasting social impact.

Director

Bob is a 25-year veteran of the UK armed forces. He relocated to Canada in 1987 and has lived in Surrey for over 30 years.

 Bob’s Canadian career, spanning almost four decades, is in the real estate development industry. As Vice President of the WestStone Group, Bob was one of the pioneering developers in the build out of Surrey’s ever expanding city centre. WestStone currently has substantial developments underway in Surrey, White Rock and New Westminster.

 Bob served 14 years on the board of the Downtown Surrey Business Improvement Association, including 2 terms as President and Chair. He Chaired the Surrey City Centre Economic Development Committee for 12 years. Bob is currently a member of the Development Advisory Committee for the City of Surrey.

 Bob cares immensely about the community he has helped to build, especially those who are most vunerable, he is committed to helping ensure that everyone has the opportuinty for safe housing and hope.

Director

Scott is the principal of Scott Nicoll Law Corporation and a director at Panorama Law Group in Surrey, BC. Called to the BC Bar in 1994 after graduating from the University of Victoria in 1993, Scott has built a litigation practice spanning administrative law, commercial litigation for corporate clients, and Indigenous law on behalf of bands and tribal councils. His clients include healthcare professionals, businesses of all sizes, non-profit societies, Indigenous organizations, and individuals, and he has appeared before all levels of court and numerous administrative tribunals in British Columbia.

Scott brings significant non-profit board governance experience, both as legal counsel advising boards and as a longstanding board member himself, having served on three boards for significant periods of time.

Director

Pamela is the Chief of Boston Bar First Nation. Chief Robertson was a nursing professional and Indigenous community health leader with frontline clinical experience. She has worked with both the Fraser Health Authority and Vancouver Coastal Health and currently serves as Health Director for her Nation. She takes a collaborative, practical approach to community work, working with government and community partners to bring people together. She oversees community programs and initiatives that support the well-being of her Nation.

Chief Robertson supports the SUMS mission to nourish the mind, body, and soul, and is committed to improving access to culturally grounded health and wellness services for Indigenous communities.

Director

Andy is an executive leader in digital health and transformation. For the past 22+ years, he has led projects and operations across health systems in the US and Canada. He'll bring strong strategic planning and project management expertise; always aiming for efficiency and prudence in delivery and service.

Andy grew up in Surrey and continues to raise his family there. He looks forward to contributing to this great mission of SUMS Place, the passionate team, and the community.

Director

Gayle is a senior public-sector leader with 30 years of experience in public safety, governance, and complex project delivery. As Executive Services Manager with the Surrey Police Service, she advises executive leadership and engages stakeholders across government and community sectors.

She previously held senior roles in policing operations and government oversight of policing. Known for strategic leadership and collaboration, Gayle is an award-winning professional with a Master’s Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies and Yale leadership training. A dedicated volunteer who grew up in Surrey, she is also a proud mother, grandmother, and committed community builder.

Director

Olusola is a finance and governance leader with over 20 years of experience in strategic financial management, strategic planning, risk oversight, and organizational stewardship. He is the Managing Partner of Caridex Accounting & Consulting Inc. (CPA) and currently serves in senior finance leadership roles in British Columbia.

Olusola is passionate about community service and is committed to using his expertise to support mission-driven organizations that create lasting impact and provide hope to individuals and families in need.
