William Myers
William is the Chief Executive Officer of SUMS Place Society. William's background focus in social services is on programs, policies and processes for people affected by or at risk of disability. Since joining as CEO in 2025, William has led the organization's strategic growth, overseeing over 140+ emergency shelter beds and a high-volume community meal program.
A lifelong Surrey resident, William brings a strong background in organizational management, with progressive leadership experience in healthcare, government and social services. William is deeply committed to health equity, anti-oppressive practice, and trauma-informed approaches to homelessness, mental health, and substance use services.
Director of Operations
Nathan oversees SUMS Place’s new projects and strategic initiatives through planning, development, and evaluation phases. He is committed to creating a future in which everyone has a safe, affordable place to call home.
Nathan Stein
Director of Information & Technology
Daniel began at SUMS when it operated as a temporary winter shelter and now leads its information and technology systems. He focuses on using automation and technology to enhance services, improve care quality, and uplift the community.
Daniel Zahara
Controller
Hema leads SUMS Place’s finance and accounting functions, supporting financial stewardship, reporting, and compliance. With experience in nonprofit and corporate finance, she focuses on strengthening accountability and sustainable operations.
Hema Chandrasekaran
Director of Human Resources
Paul began his career on the frontline and is now dedicated to employee growth and engagement. He leads the HR team in driving initiatives that promote talent development and contribute to the overall success of the organization.

Director of Development
With years of experience in social services, Ida leads fundraising, communications, and community partnerships to help build a more just, compassionate and sustainable future for SUMS Place and the community it serves.

Administrative Manager
Shay supports executive leadership and organizational operations through coordination, communications, and systems management. Shay plays a key role in keeping teams aligned, improving internal processes, and ensuring the smooth day-to-day functioning of SUMS Place.
