Meal Program
Surrey Urban Mission Society serves over 5000 meals per week to those in the community who are staying in shelter, who are struggling with poverty and addiction, who are living outside, or who just need a place to be in community with others.
Shelter
Surrrey Urban Mission Society currently hosts 4 shelter locations that operate 24 hours per day. SUMSplace Temporary Shelter, The Cove, the Olive Branch, and the Surrey Welcome Hub are all located within the Whalley area and serve guests who had previously been unhoused.
Community Connection Services
The Community Connection Services team provides access to free essential administrative services. This team works in conjunction with healthcare providers, mental health services and other community organizations as a hub for services. The success of this team is made possible through many partnerships with government organizations, as well as through the generosity of volunteers throughout the community. This team is made up of Shelter Support Workers who care directly for the guests in each of the 4 shelter locations, as well as a team of Community Connection Workers who specialize in outreach and drop-in services at the Surrey Welcome Hub location.
