Building A Bridge To Hope

A Capital Campaign for Sheltering Lives

Introduction

Welcome to Building a Bridge to Hope, a transformative capital campaign dedicated to securing a long-term sanctuary for those experiencing homelessness and food insecurity in our community. At the heart of this initiative lies our commitment to providing more than just shelter – we aim to offer dignity, security, and a pathway to stability for those in need.

Our Vision

Imagine a community where no one sleeps on the streets, where every person has access to nourishing meals, and where help and hope are always within reach. Building a Bridge to Hope seeks to turn this vision into reality by converting our Surrey Welcome Hub location into a long-term shelter, community kitchen, and support hub that serves as a beacon of compassion and resilience.

The Need

Every night, countless individuals face the harsh reality of homelessness, hunger, and isolation. Our community cannot turn a blind eye to their plight. It is our collective responsibility to provide a lifeline for those who have fallen on hard times.

Our Solution

Building a Bridge to Hope proposes the purchase of the property on which our Surrey Welcome Hub facility is located, which has been temporarily leased by the City of Surrey under a grant administered by the Union of British Columbia Municipalities (“UBCM").

The purchase of the Surrey Welcome Hub property will convert the facility from a temporary response initiative into a long-term, dedicated facility that will continue to serve as a comprehensive shelter and resource center for years to come. This multifaceted space not only offers a safe and warm place to sleep for 16 people each night, but also provides more than 150 nutritious meals every day, access to essential casework services, and opportunities for social connection and support. From temporary housing to job training programs, our aim is to address the root causes of homelessness and empower individuals to rebuild their lives.

Why We Need Your Support

Securing the Surrey Welcome Hub property requires a significant investment. With a fundraising goal of $1.5 million, we are calling on compassionate individuals, businesses, and organizations to join us in this noble endeavor. Your generous contribution will not only fund the purchase of the building but also ensure its ongoing maintenance and operational costs, guaranteeing that it remains a steadfast resource for years to come.

The Impact of Your Donation

By donating to Building a Bridge to Hope, you are not just giving money – you are giving hope. Your support will provide:

  • Shelter for those experiencing homelessness, offering safety and stability during times of crisis.
