This fall has seen significant changes at the Mission. Our former Executive Director left SUMS in early October. James Bennett, stepped up as Interim Coordinator while the Board commenced a job search for permanent Executive Director for the Mission. We thank James for the work he did at the Mission. His work, energy and wisdom were critical as the Board looks to the future for SUMS. We look forward to announcing the new, permanent Executive Director in the coming weeks.
The transition also became an opportunity for the Board to re-‐evaluate our work at the mission. It soon became clear that the needs were only getting greater in our community and the need to help those living in poverty in Whalley is significant.
Food is the basic of those human needs. At SUMS we want to do that well, consistently and with caring hearts. In short, we are going back to our core values.
